Fluoride Removal- Hand pump Attachment unit

IEI process

This model of Fluoride removal HPA is designed to work on hand pumps to remove most ground water fluoride levels to safe drinking water limits. The process of Fluoride removal comprises of reduction of Fluoride levels by an INDION RS – F resin. In the process, as raw water flows through the unit the fluoride ions are adsorbed on the resin matrix of the Fl uoride removal media to bring down the Fluoride to safe levels. On usage the resin will get exhausted based on the Fluoride levels and the water consumption. On exhaustion the unit can be regenerated by using PAC (Poly Aluminium Chloride).

Service Cycle

Operate the hand pump so as to allow water to be pumped through fluoride removal unit. Maintain a flow rate of 8 to 10 lit/min by adjusting the Valve so as to provide sufficient contact time. Allow water to drain for 10 - 15 min for rinsing of bed, if the unit is operated after few hours. Collect the treated water in the pot or any other utensil used in house. Testing of fluoride content in treated water should be twice in a week or depending on inlet fluoride concentration.

Regeneration Cycle

Take 5kg of powder PAC (i.e. 5% PAC) and dissolved in 100 lits of fluoride free water. (Solution preparation time is min. 7-8 hrs).Give proper backwash for five minutes (60-80 lit.) to remove the suspended materials. Drain the existing raw water from vessel by opening the bottom cap. Pass the PAC solution 1.0-1.5 lit/min .Remaining PAC left in vessel will be drained through bottom cap after 50-60 mins contact time. Pl. ensures that the PAC solution should be clear.
